DR. Fumiaki Isshiki PT, DPT, DOMP, MS, MSc, ITPT 

Dr. Fumiaki Isshiki "Fumi" was born and raised in Japan. He received his Bachelor's of physical therapy degree at Kobegakuin University in Japan. He was a Pilates Instructor during his college days and played baseball until the senior year. He worked with professional baseball team and outpatient physical therapy clinic in Japan. After that, he moved to The United States.

 

Received his Master of Science in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy at University of Pittsburgh. Internship with NFL Pittsburgh Steelers and MLB Seatle Marriners. Attended proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation residency program at Kaiser Rehabilitation Hospital Vallejo.

After that, He went to Loma Linda University to pursue his Post Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. On the same time, he received Doctor of Osteopathy and Master of Athletic Therapy from National University of Medical Science in Spain.

He was more interested in the manual therapy at that time, however meeting with Dr. Chris Powers in lower extremity 6 months certification course made him more interested in the movements. In 2016, he finished his American Physical Therapy Association Movement System Fellowship at Washington University in St Louis. 

Currently, finished International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sports Physical Therapies to support the summer Olympic in Tokyo 2021. He is also Certified Clinical Vestibular Therapist.

He also has great passion to raise the physical therapy education and profession in Japan. He goes back to Japan at least once a year to teach physical therapist continuing education course, working with American Physical Therapy Association Section of Women's Health to bring their certification course to Japan, and see his family.

During his off time, he enjoys playing baseball and spending time with his wife Aya, two little baby daughter Rinka and Marin, and his dog Charo.
